At a meeting of the Joint Committee on Soldiers' Records, held June 9th, 1870, the following vote was passed:-- : That the city clerk cause a record to be made in the blank books prepared for that purpose of all soldiers, sailors and marines who were in the service of the United States during the late rebellion, from Newburyport. That this record may be reliable, and that the history of all who served their country during the late war may be full and complete, you are respectfully asked to answer the following questions
